Poulenc - Un poème

Un poème

Poulenc (1946)

Il est entré
Il s'est assis
Il ne regarde pas le pyrogène à cheveux rouges1
L'allumette flambe
Il est parti

Guillaume Apollinaire

1Pyrogènes were little stoneware pots placed on tables in cafés to serve customers with matches which stood upright in them.

A poem

He came in
he sat down
he doesn't look at the pyrogene with red hair
the match flares
he left
